Jan. 9 updates from Tunisia

Here are today's updates, ranked by confidence in the information:

100% certain:
• Protests are confirmed in the southern city of Tataouine.
• No less than four killed by government forces in Regueb.
• Clashes definitely occurred within Kasserine.

90% certain:
• All roads to Kasserine have been blocked by National Guard.

75% certain:
• In El Kef: Many buildings burned. Total disorder.
• Among the casualties in Kasserine was an infant, killed by tear gas.
• Some local media are reporting that rap artist "The General," and two of the bloggers arrested last week have been released.

Priceless:
The U.S. State Department is now calling for "calm on all sides," insinuating that protesters in a police state somehow share culpability! Funny, I don't remember any statements like that about the Iranian protest movement...
